Description
Swedish clover AURORA C1 – an addition to fodder mixtures and catch crop.
Swedish clover AURORA C1 (Trifolium hybridum), also known as white-pink clover, is a perennial plant with many advantages that can grow to a height of 30 to 90 cm. Its medium-deep and highly branched root system means that it can cope well in heavy and moist soils. What's more, Swedish clover does not require a lot of light, so it develops quickly, even in less favorable conditions.
Application in Agriculture and Herbal Medicine
Swedish clover is widely used in agriculture. It is most often used as an addition to fodder mixtures, both annual and perennial, in field crops and as a catch crop. It is successfully used as fodder in the form of hay, due to its nutritional value.
This plant is particularly valued in humid areas, as it is highly resistant to periodic flooding. Therefore, it is ideally suited for cultivation in such locations. Its white-pink flowers attract pollinating insects, including bees, and the honey yield of Swedish clover ranges from 80 to 120 kg of honey per hectare.
Growing Conditions

Swedish clover works well in forage mixtures with grasses or white and red clover. It can also be used as a cover crop in spring cereal crops. Its natural resistance to difficult soil conditions makes it an excellent choice for farmers who cultivate in wet areas and heavy soils.
Additionally, Swedish clover is used in herbal medicine, which emphasizes its versatility.
